Welcome to Utah

From Blog Favorites Sept.Oct.
We left for Utah on Friday afternoon and made our traditional stop in Nampa, Idaho at the Hampton Inn. Everything felt so sentimental, even staying at this hotel. This became our favorite half way point on our many drives to Utah. We were exhausted by the time we arrived around 10:00 p.m. This drive was much longer than usual for me because of my emotional state and the fact that Bob* and I were driving separate. It made the time go by slower. I love our road trips together - it was lonesome without him. At least I had the girls with me. We passed the time listening to books on tape - Junie B. Jones and The Tale of Despereaux. (A story with surprising depth - I highly recommend it!)

Bob and I also had plenty of time to just think and reflect on that long drive. To just feel so grateful for the wonderful care that Heavenly Father took of our family for all those years in Oregon, for the opportunity to come back close to family and for all the little and big miracles he has blessed us with. This was a huge turning point for our family. We had a new adventure ahead and the memories of a wonderful adventure behind us.
