Nachoooooo!

Have you seen Nacho Libre? It is hilarious. You may think we're a little kooky, but we LOVE this show. The more we watch it, the funnier it gets. There are so many classic quotes. If you are one that only enjoys sophisticated humor, walk away. Me, I just like completely goofy humor and Jack Black fits the bill. It's not even the lines that are necessarily the funny part, it's the way he says the lines with the ridiculous attempt at sounding Hispanic. Nacho Libre
makes me laugh. Our whole family loves it. So a few months ago, when I found out some of my young women hadn't seen it, I decided to host a Nacho Libre party. It is several months later - but better late than never!

Yes, Sarah - that is exactly the right kind of spirit to be in at a Nacho Libre party!

Some of my lovely guests enjoying the Nacho one liners. You might notice that most of the guests have a paper. We played Nacho Bingo during the movie. Each box had a square with a quote in it from the movie. I was surprised how much everyone got into it! Almost everyone eventually got a blackout, but Katie was the first to get a Bingo.

I can't believe Becky kept the mask on to watch! She's so funny! (see above)

Summer Days

From Blog Favorites #3
I love summertime. My friend Melanie and I did a kid swap one sunny day - Angela went to play with Lucy (Paige's little sister) and Paige came to our house to play. Natalie was feeling a bit left out, so she invited Elizabeth from across the street to come play too. They had a blast playing on the trampoline, in the sprinklers and eating popsicles. What could be better?

Happy Birthday to Lauren!

From Blog Favorites #3
Sweet Lauren turned four the same week that Angela turned 5. I've known Lauren since she was a baby! She is growing up so fast! Would all these cute kids just quit it?! The girls were so excited to see her again. We don't get to see her as much since she moved out of the ward. They were especially thrilled that they got to see her at Out of This World! Elizabeth always throws the best parties. (o:

Basketball Camp!

From Blog Favorites #3
The last week of July, all three girls participated in the Melanson boys annual basketball camp. It was such a blast! We love their camps. And I loved that the girls got in some good exercise and learned some great skills.

Josh and Dave were the coaches this year - TJ is getting ready to head off to BYU this year. Everyone is growing up these days! What's up with that?

What a fun week - my favorite part was getting to visit with Kayelynn, Kim, and some of the other parents. I was just realizing that all the sports and music classes my kids have participated in these last few months were almost all taught by friends from church. Miss Sally taught ballet, Heidi teaching Nat violin, the Gerbers did the gymnastics camp, Marilyn teaches Sarah piano and the Melansons taught basketball. We have some very talented friends! I am so glad they share their talents with others

Oh! I almost forgot! One of the days at basketball camp, Kim had an envelope for me and Natalie was beaming as she handed it over. Apparently, while I was back home making dinner, Natalie pulled one of her loose teeth out that was bugging her! The week before she had pulled a tooth out at Cafe Rio in Utah. What a funny girl. Kim said Natalie acted like it really wasn't a big deal, but she needed someone to hold her tooth for her. Then she went right back to playing basketball. I think it is funny, for someone who can be pretty dramatic at times, how non-chalantly she just plucks her teeth out when they get loose enough to bug her.

We did have a sad moment when Natalie was admiring her tooth while I talked to some of the other parents and waited for Sarah's group to start. She dropped her teeny tiny tooth in the grass. Everyone immediately stopped talking and started searching, some on their hands and knees. It seemed futile and we started reassuring Natalie that we could leave a note under her pillow and it would be accepted by the tooth fairy as legit. But then I caught a glimpse of it! Natalie was so relieved. Phew - that was more drama then getting the thing out.
