Friends Friends Friends

We had a busy day last week with lots of friends over to play. I watched three kids in the morning and two more in the afternoon. It was very busy, but we love having friends over!

Angela and Ben also had a good time on the Wii. They are hilarious playing the Wii Sports together because neither of them really knows how to play, but somehow Angela always kicks Ben's behind! His mom always gives him a hard time about a girl beating him. (o: They are cute friends.

District Science Fair

You may remember my post from a couple months ago about doing our science experiments for the Science-O-Rama. Well, Sarah's was picked to go to district and she finally got to go! It was held at a local high school and was huge!
I was a little nervous for Sarah. They had to stand by their exhibits and be interviewed by two judges about their science experiment. Sarah did a lot of waiting.

The first judge came by and was so nice. He spent a lot of time asking all kinds of questions about every single aspect of Sarah's poster and scientific findings. Sarah seemed really nervous at first, but opened up quickly. She got all 4's and 5's on her score from this judge. He loved how she did different variables to learn about how plants "drink".

We waited a looong time for the second judge to come. (Notice the gym is almost empty.) He was so nice too and seemed very interested in everything Sarah said. He gave Sarah all 5's! (the highest score) and said her display looked great. Sarah was so proud and so were we. (o:

Natalie and Angela thought this was the most boring night ever. Angela is watching me "blog" this and commented, "that's the dumb boring place", "it was boring and it give me a headache and you thinked it was fun!".

This was a good lesson in supporting family members, no matter the sacrifice. Even if you get bored to death, which apparently almost happened to these two. They were very dramatic about just how BORING it was.

But look how much it meant to Sarah. She thanked her sisters for coming to support her. This night made her feel so special.

School Days

A beautiful afternoon in April - I decided to bring my camera out while we waited for the Kindergarten bus. This is Nat's cute birthday outfit from grandma.
We get to wait right in front of our house for the bus. Very convenient! Natalie's two best buddies often come down to wait for the bus too and they run around and play. I'm so glad they all got to be in the same class this year! Aren't they adorable?
This day, they picked some flowers to take to their teacher.

It's funny to think my daughter is the shortest. I had two best friends that lived by me growing up and I was always the tallest.

Funny Girls

Today Angela had a field trip at PetCo. We've been thinking it might be fun to try a kitty leash lately, so I asked Angela on the drive there if she thought we should get one.

She replied, "Yeah, but her gonna fweak out."

I had a pretty good laugh because Angela was right, Twilight was probably going to FWEAK out when we put on the harness. (o:

This morning while I did Natalie's hair she asked me, "Mom, who invented people?"

I thought this was a cute question and told her, "Heavenly Father made us."

She thought for a minute and added, "Well when he made me he put lots of extra art on me."

I asked her what she meant and she told me, "Well, he gave me a lot of extra fashion."

We continued to talk and guessed at how Heavenly Father put her freckles on her. (o: I love these conversations.

And I can't leave Sarah out.

On her spelling assignment last week she wrote a sentence using the word bargain. This is what she wrote:

"A bargain is just like a promise exeped it's spelled B A R G A I N instead of P R O M I S E."

Here is her sentence for 'bought'...

"I don't usually get bought lunch at school, I bring brought lunch."

And the sentence for 'all right' ...

"I have all right homework, it's not perfect, perfect homework is no homework at all."

Sarah's teacher and I were just talking today about how much we get a kick out of reading Sarah's homework. She says she often has to read a lot of Sarah's writing out loud because it's so cute. (o:

WOW! I just got a link to this song today from my grandpa and it totally made my day!! Our relief society lesson yesterday (which I wasn't able to attend, but heard/read about) was on finding Joy in the Journey - the journey of life. Music is such a powerful way to incorporate joy into our everyday lives. Sooo incredible - it gave me chills.
