Tax return time is a happy time of year! (o: We had a few things we were itching to do. The dumb thing is that I got these "before" pictures, but I forgot to get "after" ones. I will have to add them later - (my counters are too messy at the moment to get a picture now!)
We had one glitch with our new countertops - the installer came and said there was a miscommunication with the measurements, so I had to wait an extra week to get these replaced. Bummer - but I survived. We wanted granite, but I wasn't willing to fork out $6,000 - so, we went with a new laminate that has the look of granite. It really updates the kitchen and looks much better! I am very happy with it and will include a picture soon.
New family room carpet was next on the list. Angela had fun watching the installation.

Here's a picture from farther away - hard to see under all the birthday clutter, but you get the idea - I'll post a better pick later. They're nice and dark - much more updated than the cream color.
Getting carpet is a pain! We need it in the other rooms too, but just doing that one small room was a ton of work! Again - more "after" pictures later!
Here is our makeshift after school snack since we were kicked out of the kitchen. Angela and I had lunch on this blanket too.
