We have been driving down to Salem to the State Fair on Labor Day weekend for years. We've probably been at least 6 or 7 of the ten years that we've lived out here. So many interesting things to see. We love people watching, looking at the animals, eating the crappy food, and going on the goofy rides. This was some kind of running over logs in the water contest. Apparently, it was the finals leading up to the world competition. We were surprised there was even such a thing!
On BIG disappointment this year was that the booth where the kids used to get to hold baby chicks does not allow kids to hold them anymore. The girls were very disappointed about this. We just had to look
through the glass.
Christopher* loves to see the chickens. (o: I thought this one was cute!
The cakes reminded me of my sister-in-law Kimmie. You would have loved these Kimmie!
Corn dogs! Yeah!
Cotton Candy - yes!
We went on one ride together as a family and let the girls pick one other ride to go on. The prices were ridiculous. We couldn't believe all the people who looked like they couldn't afford clothes or dental work, going on tons and tons of rides. We really felt like we splurged doing our two rides.
While daddy was getting tickets I noticed Natalie crouched on the ground. The ride right by us was coming downward quickly and looked to her like it was coming down right on her.
We thought it would be fun to all ride the Ferris Wheel together. Natalie was so incredibly nervous! Can you tell by her face? She did not like the gentle rocking at all!
Sarah chose a little fun house for her ride. Natalie chose another fun house.
Angela went on the little canoes and tried it horizontally. (O:
We will miss the Oregon State Fair and will definitely be checking out the Utah State Fair next year!
