A Girls' Night on the Town!

Towards the beginning of the year Heidi - one of my YW and Natalie's violin teacher, told us her school was doing "Alice in Wonderland" and she was going to try out for the lead. She is such an outgoing and spunky girl, we weren't surprised to find out that she got the part! For weeks, we saw her at violin practice after her play practices and got the run down on how things were going. When the time finally came - we wouldn't have missed it for anything. Tana got one of the flower parts too! WE couldn't wait to see their performance. We invited Lydia along for the fun.

And I let Sarah bring Jensen since we had one more seat in the van. I always thought it would be fun to have five girls - so I had my five girls for the night. We had a great time!

My buddy Angela!

This outfit is quite the ensemble. Angela is turning out to like making her own fashion statements along with Nat. I think her shirt is even backwards. What kind of mother am I? (o;

The play was fantastic! We had such a fun time. It was a Disney (Jr.) "broadway" play and it was so well done. The costumes were incredible and the script and "special effects" were quite clever! Like the part where the caterpillar is moving around. He led in the front and several students walked behind him - connected together with green fabric and wearing green gloves on their hands. They were his many legs. I didn't explain it very well - it was just really neat. When Alice shrunk down - they had a little girl that looked like Heidi do those parts. Again, clever! The girls were so excited to see Heidi after. She was like a celebrity to them! Heidi really did a fantastic job - she is definitely a performer.

Tana did fantastic as well. She got so into her part and got to do a lot of singing, which she loves.

The Mad Hatter was my friend Stephanie's son. He was tons of fun - his scenes were very entertaining.

We didn't know the girl playing the Queen of Hearts, but the girls really wanted a picture with her. They loved her dress.

These two are so fabulous. Best friends. Not many best friends could both go for the lead in the play (for the record, I think Tana would have done amazing as well - I could really see her doing it) and not have any hurt feelings or bitterness when only one was chosen. I am proud of Tana for "Blooming" where she was planted. She put her whole heart into her flower role and you could tell she was having a blast. Rather than moping and being mad at Heidi. Instead she was genuinely happy for Heidi. I am proud of her for that - there aren't many adults who could have handled that half as well.
